HIGHWAY
DESIGN PROJECTS:
Chignik
Airport Access Road Rehabilitation:
Green Engineering is analyzing traffic and
safety and preparing specifications as a subcontractor to BEESC. This
project will rehabilitate 0.9 miles of existing
road to current design standards with realignments
as necessary along rock bluffs to minimize
maintenance efforts and provide a dependable
year-round access to the airport, which is
the community's only link to other parts
of the state. The design coordinates coastal
engineering for armor rock slope protection,
geotechnical recommendations for rock fall
and rock cutting issues, hydraulic engineering
for fish passage at stream crossings, and
right-of-way mapping.
Seward Meridian Reconstruction
- Parks Highway to Seldon Road - Environmental
Services: Green Engineering is providing
peer review and quality control for project
engineering reports. The project proposes to
upgrade the existing 2-mile portion of the
Seward Meridian Parkway between the Parks Highway
and Bogard Road, and to extend the road one
mile from Bogard Road to Seldon Road. Intersection
improvements at the Palmer-Wasilla Highway
and Bogard Road, pedestrian amenities, and
replacement of the Cottonwood Creek crossing
are also included. CH2M Hill is managing the project. |
